About the Author
Alfred Edward Wooley Mason was born in 1865. He was educated at Dulwich College before going up to Oxford University. Once his formal education was completed, Mason went on to become an actor, which had been an ambition since schooldays. He began his writing career with historical fiction, but then moved into the arena of politics, becoming a Liberal Member of Parliament for Coventry in 1906. However, his love of writing stayed with him and Mason further developed his repertoire and style to incorporate detective fiction, introducing one of the earliest fictional detectives, Inspector Hanaud, the Gallic counterpart to Sherlock Holmes. His detective fiction contains material clues and spontaneity. Throughout the course of his life Mason produced over thirty titles. The most enduring work is 'The Four Feathers' which is the most filmed work of any writer in the 20th century, with seven versions in all. There have also been many other films and plays based on his novels, including the Hanaud series. A.E.W. Mason died in 1948.

This is fairly typical AEW Mason stuff- tragic heroine, stiff upper lip hero, etc. The writing is often over the top and flowery. Unlike his best stories, there is little suspense or action.

Wish I Had This Years Ago!

After reading 'Data Analysis and Business Modeling with Excel 2013', I must say that I enjoyed the organization of this publication. Although I've been an advanced Business Intelligence user for a few years, I still found a few tips that David makes mention of to be very helpful. For anyone considering purchasing this book, I would recommend it for Business and Financial Analysts that work specifically with messy data (specifically for strings and dates). David's examples provide great application of how to quickly clean up large blocs of irregular data and run parallel functions alongside data sets for efficient computation. My only hesitation for not rating 5 stars is that PowerPivot and Power Query are not discussed in this particular text, but I do encourage the author to considers they be included in the next publication... David, I'll be happy to assist if you decide to pursue this.

Nevertheless if you're an Financial or Business Analyst, Data Scientist, or Student looking to take your data skills in Excel to the next level, this is the kind of book that I wish I had years ago. Upon reading, you'll pick up importing with multiple flat file sources quickly as well as blending some basic skills with Microsoft SQL Server tables (very common for large organizations that use Windows exclusively). This book also explores Pivot Tables, Charting, dynamic slicing of data sets, and a bit of VBA macros as well. I for one plan on giving this book to a friend who I know is just beginning to use Excel for more than the standard 'A1 + B1 = C1' formulas. Good book. Not really a new edition.

This is a lot more of a grammar than a teach yourself Kurmanji for dummies. Be aware of that. Grammars are not for everybody, but I actually quite enjoy the style of this book. The Rizgar Learn Kurdish book is nice and progresses well, but I like that this grammar is so concise and gets right to the point about everything.

I previously got the 1991 version of this book from the library, so when I noticed that the edition for sale here is 2010 I was excited. To my disappointment though, NOTHING HAS CHANGE SINCE THE 1991 VERSION. In the intro to the 1991 version of the book, the editor say that it was a preliminary editions and that there were plans to add exercises and improve the course. This part was just taken out of the intro in the new edition and nothing else was just, with the exception of the font being slightly larger. 22 years later and the book is exactly the same.

There are some typos, but for the most part the book is worth a read. It's helping me out.
