The Best Present I Ever Bought Myself

This book was the best present I ever bought myself. Doing the work within these pages and going to CoDA meetings has made me a happier, healthier, more complete person. This program saved my life. I recommend purchasing the book "Co-Dependents Anonymous", also known as the CoDA Big Book, along with this text. It would be helpful to read the big book either along with doing the workbook, or ahead of time for further insight and clarity. Working these steps and answering the questions truly helped me to take the focus off of others and place it on myself. Thus I stopped playing the victim role and moved into a place of self love, spiritual healing and recovery that was guided by a Higher Power. The introductions in each section give the reader a good understanding of the step or tradition being discussed and the questions that follow really assist one in looking inward towards their own behaviors and defects of character. By completing these tasks, I found myself recognizing my own behaviors, sorting out those that don't serve me and replacing them with healthier habits that leave me more spiritually fulfilled and serene. I can't say that this is a project to be taken lightly. I can say with complete confidence that the more honesty and thought that goes into this undertaking means more serenity on the other side.
