Review
“This is a truly comparative textbook. Organized not by countries but by concepts, Crepaz and Steiner stimulate students to reflect on the possible explanations for key differences among European democracies and between Europe and the United States. An excellent basis for creative and vivid class discussions.”–Arend Lijphart, University of California-San Diego

A strong primer on European democracy
By Max Ellithorpe
This book was required as part of a West European Politics course. I am glad the instructor adopted it, as the book carefully explored the intricacies of European democracy. The authors did a good job of combining theoretical and practical information.

Love this book
By Skay
I really like how they explain each European country well in my opinion, especially with the complicated systems they have in Europe, each country can confuse you! However, this book does a great job!!
